M-Real, Stockstadt, GER

The mill of M-Real Stockstadt GmbH has a production capacity of approximately 160,000 tons of chemical pulp and 420,000 tons of coated and uncoated fine paper.

Within the general optimisation of the industrial water cycle for this site by Ondeo IS a number of key requirements have been met:

• A reduction in paper mill effluents load within the waste water stream
• A reduction in pulp effluents load within the waste water stream
• Avoidance of odour and noise pollution

A broad view of water management needs resulted in a number of initiatives:

• The separation of the existing main drainage into individual channels for inorganic loaded waste water, organic loaded waste water from the pulp production, organic loaded waste water from the paper production
• Re-use of cooling water and other water streams within the process
• Implementation of targeted processes for treatment of different waste waters

In addition, Ondeo Industrial Solutions has designed and built the new biological aerobic treatment plant which is at the heart of the current waste water treatment system.

The demand and overall purification efficiency for waste water was fullfilled. The tough local discharge limits have been met in all parameters.
